2022 – StoneCrabs Theatre Youth Consultation
I was commissioned by IW & London-based company StoneCrabs Theatre (SCT), to reassess the needs and demands for young people on the IW who are learning and engaging with theatre. Aims were to find out what can be done to increase skills, job potential and wellbeing through consultation with young people via live workshops and an online survey reaching x70 young people aged between 14-30 yrs. Live workshops were with IW College Performing Arts Level 2 & 3 Students aged 16-24 yrs and Apollo Theatre Youth Group, Newport aged 8-19 yrs, with a total of x64 young people.
This youth consultation was necessary to ensure the needs of young people on the Island are being met, are listened to and the feedback and survey results could be used to help guide future work and funding applications for SCT, placing young people’s voices at the heart of their mission and values.
